Planning- hair

The males hair will be smart but also have quite a rugged look. We have considered our character having a beard to create the look we want. This will also age the character, making him appear older than he is. The cast are teenagers, we envisioned having a slightly older characters. 







The girl will have loose curls throughout the film. This emphasises the girls natural beauty and make her appear to look effortless. We may consider putting her hair up, depending on the clothing and setting. 

Planning- Health and Safety- risk assessment

Slips and trips (internal) (external)	Actors and crew may be injured if they trip over objects or equipment or slip on spillages.	The area must be clear and it must be maintained throughout the filming process. The area must be well lit to ensure everything is visible. All cables and leads must be ordered and not left in a vulnerable place (clear signage if needed). Finally, everyone cleans up after themselves to avoid any other hazards.	The area must be kept tidy at all times, nothing can be left on the floors. Any areas with electrical equipment must be completely clear. Weather-Rain (external)	Crew and/or actors who may be near the electrical sources could be at risk or electrocution. Equipment may become damaged if it comes into contact with water.	We must plan ahead, to ensure we avoid bad weather. Shots that require an external environment should be shot quickly and efficiently therefore, we can avoid the bad weather. We would give the characters a quick run through so they know what to do before hand.	We must ensure the actors know what they are doing before so if we need to film in the rain it won’t take that long.  This will also reduce the damage done to equipment. Sudden illness or injuries- (internal and external)	Anybody from the crew to the actors could suddenly become ill or suffer an injury.	We will provide a first aid box that will be at every location in which we film. We will film in familiar locations or places which we know well so we know where we can get help. Planning- Clarification on our idea

This is Sophie and I's clarification vlog, in which we explain our final decision and how we came it. After a long time considering our different ideas, we came to a conclusion as a result of the feedback we received.

Planning- lighting

When deciding our location, we did have to consider the weather and the light. We understood that we had to take into consideration, the restricted light we would have as we were filming in winter. 

Throughout the trailer we will be using outdoor lighting. The outdoor lighting will benefit us and give us a natural look as well as creating an ambiance. The high key lighting will represent the happiness the couple are experience. It will create a positive mood and represent the characters emotions well. 

To achieve the dullness for when the relationship begins to break, we will edit the colour gradient and saturation. The low key lighting appearance will represent the change in mood and emotion.It will slightly build the tension, allowing the audience to understand that not everything is not as it seems. 


We did consider lights but due to the environment, we would not have anywhere to plug in the lights, therefore restricting us massively. Sophie and I will have to carefully check the weather and timings. We will completely rely on the weather and daylight. We will take standard lights with us as well as a stand if the natural light does not give us what we hoped, if this is the case we will have to change our exact location in order to use the lighting.

Planning- target audience

Often romantic films are targeted at women and teenage girls. Romantic comedies are very popular due to the emotion that is shown in them. The audience can relate to the characters perhaps on a personal level. The main aim of a romantic film is to engage the audience and give them a sense of "real life". After researching it is clear that most romance films have a target audience ranging from 13-25 year olds. Regarding this, we will consider using characters of a similar age.

In our film our target audience will be 13-20 year olds, so we will consider using characters from our age range (17-19). This focuses on that age group and will hopefully engage the audience. In addition, after looking at a number of romantic films, we understand that women are the main target audience. So, Sophie and I have decided to make our film from a females perspective, further engaging the target audience. Moreover, the idea of stereotypes is key. Often there is a naturally beautiful, young girl and a tall, handsome man. We asked a number of class members that are in this age range to fill out Survey Monkey. This enabled us to understand what our audience wants and highlight who we should aim our film at. Its clear that most teenagers enjoy romance films and the 20 year olds are not so keen. These are the results.

Planning-makeup

Day time look.
This look will appear a lot throughout the film, the character will be very natural. The makeup will be done on set, as will the hair. The makeup i will do will be buildable, so the natural makeup will be the main base and the dramatic makeup look will be put on top. This will reduce time spent. It will highlight the characters natural beauty.







Date night look.
I will do this look for one of the evening dates. The picture below shows the definition on the eyes to create this dramatic look. I will however, still keep the face makeup quite natural to fit the character. As the film is set in Autumn time, the dark berry lip and smokey bronze eye will fit the aesthetic. The dark makeup will draw attention to the eyes which reveal a lot of emotion. 




Natural male makeup. 
The male character in the film will have a little bit of makeup on to ensure that he is not washed out on camera. I will use bronzer, perhaps concealer and highlighter to create a happy glow.
